- Germa recking big moms crew who came after them and their intention to go help the strawhats

Apart from this nothing special happened. Talking about sanji....hmm the cake is probably quarter way complete as of now.

No one he ever faced has dodged his attacks as much as base Luffy.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. Gear 2 Luffy was blitzed and now Katakuri is having some trouble hitting a base Luffy. Maybe it is his Observation getting better.

Highlight of this chapter was Tamago for me. Instead of the usual shonen trope "hahaha that stupid main character will get beaten by our boss so easily" he is still going all out and doesn't want to underestimate them for a second, even though they're much stronger. Luffy has this reputation now and it's terrifying to him and Katakuri.

The incidents that revolve around Luffy are no coincidences.

It's thanks to him or the SH's the bomb went off, the cake toppled, the Vinsmokes are repaying their debt, a cake is being made, the Sun pirates are disabling the slugs etc.

All these things on their own might seem harmless but everything together is making a yonkou crew sweat a bit.

- Vinsmokes destroying part of BM's army.

- Pedro and Chicken guy conversation.

I was thinking the same.
Katakuri got the best Observation Haki hype and now he can't hit Luffy. This arc is getting weird.

That can only mean that Luffy's observation haki is growing, which would explain how he is nullifying the Katakuri effect.

It's pretty obvious that Katakuri isn't going all out and he is just mocking Luffy for doing nothing but dodging. It was already stated that Katakuri is the strongest of the 3 SCs and that he is the strongest of BM's children, so he should be capable of stomping G2/3 Luffy whenever he wants to since one of Cracker's biscuit soldiers embarrassed G2/3 Luffy.

He’s purposely limiting them to help the Strawhats. It’s honestly a bit annoying, I feel like there could’ve been a more organic way for this fight to go, without it looking like it’s a nerf on the BMPs part.

While I agree that a lot of people overhyped Katakuri(as in, hyped him beyond what the knowledge available at the time actually warranted), what's happening now still doesn't make sense unless Uzumaki Macho is right and Katakuri is holding back and is just mocking Luffy with the hype we DO have now.
