The popular theory rn is that Mabui teleported him away, that could explain the missing limbs.
that still wouldn't make any sense, otherwise it would just defeat the purpose of Mabui's statement about why the 3rd Raikage was able to survive that tech and not end up dead. Her using the technique on Ao wouldn't necessarily explain why he's only missing limbs, considering her explanation as to why it wasn't normally used on ppl.

Not really, he still got messed up badly unlike Ay who got no damage and Tsunade only had minor injuries. Yes, it would explain how he got crippled. This theory is at least better than him straight up surviving the Juubidama or someone from Kara coming in the nick of time to save him. Do you have a better explanation other than "asspull"?

unless Ao was the 3rd Raikage's son, which he was not, it wouldn't explain why he only missed some body parts. Using Tsunade as an attempt to explain away Ao being alive is clearly a bad one, because i don't remember Ao ever being portrayed/mentioned as having a tech like Byakugo at his disposal.

considering that entire hq got nuked by a Juubi Dama and Ao wasn't ever shown trying to escape it, how is it not an asspull?

Mabui said the person would be torn apart.

What happened to Ao fits that description even if he didn't fully turn into mince meat, it's just he didn't die. Do you think most shinobi have the same durability or something?
Byakugo doesn't increase durability, so i don't get your point.

Because the people who got the final screentime from that place was Shikaku and Ino's dad iirc, it didn't show Ao near those two, did it?

brah, you didn't even read the last part of Mabui's statement where she says "torn apart and dead on the other side". It's no surprise why you didn't get the point, because you're not remembering her exact statement right.

the mental gymnastics are obvious in this argument, and that's excluding the fact that none of it proves how Ao could have possibly have been the lone survivor of that explosion via Mabui's technique.

That's why i said "it's just he didn't die", he was partly torn apart by it but he didn't die.

At this point, it's best if we agree to disagree then.
