Boruto already activated his jougan in the nue arc which is also canon so if boruto activated it now it wouldn't be his first time but it would be the first time in the manga

Boruto is nonchalant, hot-headed, rebellious, quick to run away...but strong in his own right. Sarada is the sensible one, but so is Mistuki. Sarada and Mistuki both step up to the plate, but it's always BEHIND boruto. They constantly follow him around, Boruto is the center of attention.All eyes are on him. Naruto has high expections of him, and Sasuke has high expectations of him...while ignoring his daughter most of the time. I understand Mitsuki being reserved, but being informative when necessary. What about the other main characters? Where's there relationship with the hokage, sasuke, or even konohamaru?

Nue arc is canon. Boruto will either just state he remembers his eye when he activates in manga or have a few flashback panels of it

But to fix your theory, I'd say he might activate the Ootsusuki mark. It's already been brung up in the latest chapter with Naruto telling Mitsuki and Sarada to keep an eye on the mark.

I know it'll be soon because Mitsuki mentioned the mark has been throwing Boruto off lately. Essentially it's paralleled to the Kyuubis chakra throwing Naruto off in the beginning but then his seal gets altered by Jiraiya iirc then he will gradually master it over many adventures and struggles. Something like that

They have a relationship. It'll just take more time to get there..A lot more time. I should have just waited a couple more years to read Boruto..This wait is killing me.

The thing is even in PT I, characters like Sasuke and Sakura were notably protagonists because there personalities and ideals were completely different and the team clashed. This meant the attention wasn’t just on Naruto.

In Team boruto’s case, Mitsuki and Sarada are very reserved and Boruto isn’t as hot-headed as Naruto was so there’s no contrast, clashing or indifference and that just makes Boruto seem more important and his teammates just seem like secondary characters.
