As we saw in this scan Madara left because he could see what will happen when Tobirama becomes Hokage. He warned rest of his clan members but they didn´t want to listed.

They didn´t follow Madara man who was their leader all time, man who only wanted the best for them.

Madara said if Tobirama becomes Hokage Uchihas would be exterminated. What happened in reality :

Uchihas could prevent this if they were listening to Madara.

Hashirama said leave Tobirama to me but Madara knew Tobirama is beast that can´t be tamed.
