Well it's unknown but I think they're basically the same thing just sasukes is a weaker version just sharingan and rinnegan fusion

The difference is that one is purple with 6 tomoes on it while the other is red with 9 tomoes I hope that helps. Also Rinnesharigan doesn't evolve or "replace" your doujutsu since it is 3rd eye. So in theory you could have 3 different doujutsus in Sasuke's case, although it's not really true since you need 2 Rinnegans to open Rinnesharingan.

the other is via genetic passing like Hagoromo, Madara, and Sasuke which is grayish purple

the overall ability and strength is via the chakra fruit level and for the genetically passed one it is by how much the user has of chakra compared to the original source (Kaguya or the chakra tree).

Momo got his via consumption but his tree was under level 10 while Kaguya's is over 16

he didn't get the commas but had the eye as red

Maybe you can use one for only Rinnegan techs while the other lets you use both Rinnegan and Sharingan techs?

Madara couldn't use Susanoo as JJ. But Sasuke could. I really don't know.
