According to the Bible, the number seven represents completion and the event that is supposed to occur on the 23rd is an event that only occurs in 7,000 years, however according to the Bible the Earth has only been around for 5,000 years so only two things can be said from that. Either the Earth is much older and the Hebrews became familiar with this celestial event and recorded it, or since this is the first time this event is ever happening that means that God is deciding to wrap things up.

Also, the Simpsons have "predicted" something will happen on this date. Obviously if a show predicts multiple things then it means that the people behind it are fabricating the events. Any thoughts?

What???

you bring up information from the bible, but then bring up the simpsons which turns the topic into a complete joke.

What are you talking about?

The Bible never says the Earth was 5,000 years old and the Simpsons is just a cartoon.

I first heard about the September 23 thing earlier today but I still don't get it. All I know is that something bad is supposed to happen. You confused me more, OP. XD

Honestly, did anyone here defending the bible even read the bible before?

Yes, it may not have been explicitly stated that the Earth is 5000 years old, but they gave explicit numbers as to the ages of Adam and his descendants up to ancient civilizations like Egypt. All you have to do is do the math.

The man behind the Simpsons is a high-ranking mason. Nothing he produces is a joke. There are Always micro-messages To Be found.

First off; you two should look up all the events in the real world that were foreshadowed in a simpsons episode.

I ain't lookin up sh*t. I'm too much of adult to look up conspiracies and coincidences painted as prophecies.

The guy behind simpsons is probably secretly laughing at how easily you guys eat up all this crap.

I thought animation and comedy...were literally a joke.

In other perspective in my Theology class, bible is actually classified under myth.

When you have made so many series of The Simpsons, coincidences are obviously going to occur. The classic joke of "Simpsons Did It" only works because every conceivable thing has happened in that show by this point.

Simpsons writers are comedic geniuses and sometimes mathematical nerds too but it never had some conspiracy 'grand intention' to predict the future. If you want that, look at Black Mirror or Star Trek.

The bible and The Simpsons. Both very credible sources.

The Bible is something I believe in I think you should believe in it as well, and concerning the Simpsons, it isn't a matter of the show being able to "predict the future", it's a matter of the people or person behind the show being involved with particular events. Predicting the future is impossible so if the Simpsons predict multiple things it can only mean that whoever is making the show is orchestrating the events.

So because the Theology class says the Bible is mythology it must be? By that logic you should believe the Bible because it claims itself to be true and that the God within the book to be absolute and omnipotent.

You can't call religion blind belief but then believe something based on Argumentum ad verecundiam.

Do you have any way to prove that the bible isn't a myth?
