Orochimaru had kabuto preform some of his jutsus but none the less his white snake powers compensated for him.

I agree. Deidara's evasion skills are off the charts, he's not an easy man to kill. He got so much more screentime than most of the other akatsuki because unlike them he kept surviving his battles.
