I won't read that deeply into this. Kishimoto simply thought of giving Darui something fancy but failed to account for the facts surrounding his Raiton use. Darui is a very side character, so I doubt his background mattered at all.

Yeah Kakashi's skill with Raiton is well known around NV even Ay noticed the technique when Sasuke tried stabbing with his Chidori through his Lighting Armor
