Like is it easy for someone to be the rational one when arguing about if you should be religious or not?

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is a lie?

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is connected to homophobia and terrorism?

What do you say when an atheist says that you don't need religion to be a good person, and that it's not normal and disturbs you?

It depends, if it is about morality, spirituality then you could say that religion wins because it is its territory. But when it's about trying to explain the world then no.

Debate is won by who has the stronger argument points.

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is a lie?
Saying religion is a lie doesn't make any sense to begin with. How is it a lie? From what perspective? Religion existed since mankind were created, so it's not a lie.

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is connected to homophobia and terrorism?
Homophobia isn't a thing, firstly. Secondly, there has been terrorist instances motivated by atheism; communism draws its ideology from atheist and anti-religious sentiments. Soviet Union persecution on religious values were driven by atheism; freedom of religion was banned and religious education was banned too. So atheists aren't free from terrorism themselves.

What do you say when an atheist says that you don't need religion to be a good person, and that it's not normal and disturbs you?
The good things from moral and deed perspectives come from religious teachings; know your neighbour is a religious teaching, help the needy and poor are religious teachings, human rights etc. all originate from religious values. There has never been a human civilization on earth that didn't derive their success from religion, whether it's from moral to economic to social and so on. Same can't be said for atheism.

Depends on how smart or stupid the one trying to be rational is, i guess.

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is a lie?

To explain it to me.

What do you say when an atheist says that religion is connected to homophobia and terrorism?

I would also ask them to explain this to me. The rest will depend on how the conversation goes from that point onwards.

What do you say when an atheist says that you don't need religion to be a good person, and that it's not normal and disturbs you?

That is true, you don't need religion to be a good person, you just need to be. Then i would ask them what the hell do they mean by "and that it's not normal and disturbs you?", and probably call them an idiot.

What about the religious people who actually do have morals taught by their religion, help people, help poor countries, help after there's been a disaster, teach about love, and follow the path as a hard working citizen.

To generalize and say all religious people are irrational is dumb :lol

Correct.
Saying religion is a lie doesn't make any sense to begin with. How is it a lie? From what perspective? Religion existed since mankind were created, so it's not a lie.
Google the definition of a "lie" ASAP, first off. Second, religion being a lie can refer to either it being wrong about the nature of the world and God, or referring to the idea that religion was created with underhanded purposes in mind.

Homophobia isn't a thing, firstly.
Breh, what.

Correct.

These teachings aren't exclusive to religion, nor did they originate with religion. Religion is one method used to explain and teach these concepts, which are innate to human understanding and capacity. These values would exist and continue to exist without religion. If the chicken came before the egg, these values are the chicken and religion is the egg.

some of the acts that are considered good by religions are actually crimes, and religious people do good things in order to be rewarded with paradise, and to stay away from hell, this is not morals.
And someone who believes Moses split the sea or Muhammed split the moon and ignores science cannot be considered a rational person.

Yes just say even thou science is facts the truth is it's just a bunch of theories from a bunch of men who can't agree with one another since none of them know the answer to how "it all began" So who gives them the right to put their belief over others. They only know 5% of the universe and even that gets shady because the more depth you get into QM the more you wonder that maybe "god" could exist because to underestand how quantum works means denying logic to begin with.

Nothing says "ignorance" like "Science is just theories."

Religion and god should never be argued with logic. If it does exist, then its probably beyond what we can logically comprehend.
rationalism and religion don't mix.
I'm obviously talking about quantum on how the universe* works not science in general, you might've noticed that had you not bumrush in here for comment of a day.
pretty much what they said u can't argue with a religious person about how religion isn't rational because they it isn't rational as they believe in forces that aren't meant to be understood by man

Yeah, except your exact words were

A general comment about science in general. Even if you were talking a specific field of science(quantum physics), theories isn't a light concept. It takes a mountain of evidence and is a hefty concept. Not too long ago, gravity was a theory as well.
