The Uchiha were willing to put their pride aside for the better of the village, even if Madara had a reasonable point for them to leave. The Hyuga had so much pride that they turned to enslaving one another and keeping extremely useful abilities only for the main house for the sake of keeping their own brethren in line as useful servants.

I can respect the Uchiha's decision to follow the Senju. The Hyuga on the other hand look like a bunch of brats.

Hashirama, likely with his use of wood clones to assist the other Senju, played a significant role in said superiority over the Uchiha, not necessarily the average Senju shinobi as a whole. When we look to the Uchiha, we have a lot more unique shinobi to come out of the clan. Madara, Izuna, Itachi, Sasuke, Shisui, Obito, and Fugaku (assuming you want to take the novel into account, lol).

No Senju has an answer to KA and bar Tobirama's FTG/Hashirama's Mokuton, none could contend with Amaterasu, Enton, Kamui, Susano'o, or Tsukuyomi. A hypothetical DMS Obito, even without Senju DNA, still has a more advanced S/T jutsu than FTG.

If we restrict things to the Warring States era, then the Senju win. If we look at both clans as a whole, the Uchiha would be on top.

Nothing is more humiliating than that.
