What's considered Boruto canon?

The Boruto manga and anime are taking two different routes on the story they are telling. So what is actually canon and what's not?

Anime isn't really anything different except they showed us the academy arc that happened, and after that nothing really different, they are just reanimating gaiden then the movie, but before the movie they'll probably add some back story of what happened, that's the only difference other than that they're all the same.

Anime is so far canon with nue arc(kishi worked on it) and now gaiden but they added extra content which most would consider not canon at this point

and manga is all canon of course unless its kishi who makes a change in the anime. his word of course overrides the boruto writer.

Ikemoto's manga is going and has been going nowhere fast since 2016. The anime is more popular and what people actually care about. The anime has adapated Kishi scribed notes and chapters and will likely retell the movie (even though SP animated and co-wrote the movie with Kishi), and animate Mitsuki's and Oro's chapter next.
