So if we do the math, there should be at least 12 more chapters this year, and knowing Oda, we will probably not be done with this stupid arc before 2018.

The arc is completely stupid. Oda keeps crapping on Sanji too apparently.

This arc should've ended at the cake falling down and them escaping, only to return to defeat big mam. Now that its taken this trajectory, oda best to get rid of big mom from the story otherwise these chapters will be a waste of time.

You're idea of senseless running through the woods is probably skewered by the many breaks we've gotten over the past couple of weeks.

They only spend three whole chapters in the woods after the cake fell, so this chase is nowhere near as long as the running scenes on Dressrosa from the cage or Punk Hazard from the gas.

Besides it's not senseless when you know where you're going and you're running from a yonkou.

This arc is relatively short. They got to the cake and spent 3 chapters tiring up loose ends and escaping. If Sanji comes back with the cake in 3 chapters and they deal with it all in that time we could see a coupe De burst to wano in 6 or 7 chapters

Whole Cake Island: Sanji saves crew and family from certain death multiple times with thinking outside of the box
Wano : Zoro tries fighting a yonkou with the only thing he knows how to and gets beaten in the strength department hard.

The SHs wouldn't need to be saved in the first place if Sanji didn't insist that they try to save the Vinsmokes.

That's not for you to decide who is worth saving. The Strawhats have saved plenty of shitty people. And at the very least Reiju was worth saving. Sanji would've been a scumbag for the rest of the series if he let his family die. This way he got the ultimate redemption on hi father too.

Besides if the Vinsmokes end up saving the Strawhats in their escape, are you going to turn again ? Is it then suddenly a good thing that Sanji saved his family ?

To be fair, Luffy literally let hundreds of murderers and thieves and rapists out into the public to rescue a fellow murderer and thief. Pirates aren't saints themselves, as made clear in the very first chapter.
