Not a bad theory. From the information we have, the twin lion fist seems to inflict multiple kinds of damage. Physical Damage from the impact itself of the strike (may be negligible), Chakra network damage similar to normal gentle fist techniques (confirmed), and direct chakra absorbtion (confirmed). It's increased range is also a big factor to consider here, and I wouldn't be surprised if like samehada an indirect graze is enough to absorb an opponent's chakra further increasing its combat potential. It really is a shame we didn't get to see more of it. Hopefully in Boruto we will get the chance to see Hinata whoop some ass, fingers crossed!
