One of the major misconceptions is that Susano'o is a chakra avatar, wrong. Susano'O is stated in the databook as the guardian god of the user and eats the users lifeforce in return. Think about this , how can someone's own chakra, make thier cells pain?Have you ever heard of this anywhere else?No. It is in fact , ethereal as it is summoned by the user like gedo mazou and the ribcage form has similar screws to gedo mazou. Both these things do the same thing. Eats the user's lifeforce as shown in the case of nagato. It penetrated the barrier of kabuto and passed through sasuke when itachi poked him in the head. It also roared and could do hand signs. This is full evidence it is a living thing like gedo. Gods exist in narutoverse , in the most literal way, like jashin and fire temple god and death reaper demon etc. In the same way, amaterasu is a goddess actually in the literal manner, as kankuro stated" so these are the undying flames of amaterasu" not just "amaterasu". Amaterasu is summoned from a black world according to databook. It is not chakra as some of us think. It can burn anything, from matter to energy to even multidimensional things. Kyuubi also stated "Since there are no gedo mazou to be a sacrifice, he himself is going to a vessel for susano'o" which means susano'O is a living being and also a god literally. Amaterasu takes the user's lifeforce in return , this is why the user bleeds and even kakashi has stated using kamui is harmful for his body and also amaterasu is activated with feelings as sasuke showed in Bee fight which clearly establishes this fact. This is also why TSB couldnt erase them. And nagato couldnt push or pull Susano'O even though he did it to bee and kyuubi mode naruto. This is the same with the six paths of pain. These paths are actually realms like limbo. It is actually connecting the realms to the current world. Look at the how madara produces limbo shadows; He forms a shadow in his world of limbo and they take form in the real world. They go away if the enemy gets too close to the user which means there is no space for the shadow to form. The same for the other realms: summoning the king of hell, shurado etc. For shinra tensei, tendo creates a forcefield like preta path does for absorption. Which means these paths cannot absorb or deflect attacks which already hit thier body, which renders what nagato did to amaterasu , a plotshield. Even the databook confirms it , saying that the user has to raise his palms to perform the jutsu similar to preta path. The difference between the mangekyou dimensions and rinnegan dimensions are that rinnegan dimensions exist in narutoverse while MS dimensions exist outside narutoverse as tobi's kamui could interact into kaguya's dimension which makes sense as rinnegan is the most exalted among byakugan and sharingan but not above mangekyou sharingan. This is why sasuke's sharinnegan doesn't have the 9 tomoe, the three tomoe missing are the mangekyou tomoe because appeared in the eye which possessed mangekyou, and not in the forehead. Further, shinra tensei is not pure gravity, its manipulating shinra obiki which is most likely and the gravity is given life , thus the word "tensei" which means reincarnation like muki tensei.
