Be honest with yourselves. If this shit happened in real life, would you even think for one second about defending it or even justifying it's occurrence?

Seriously, killing the conspirators was that difficult? Was arresting them or meeting with them in secret that hard to do? Was wiping the entire group clean off the Earth justified? We all know why Konoha decided to off them. It wasn't that it was the right thing, but that they'd messed with the Uchiha's for far too long and the Uchiha were too strong of a clan to contend with, especially when aggravated.

This is clearly an incident of oops, sorry that I angered you by ****ing with you, but now that you've decided to deal with my bullshit I'm going to kill you now.

I get that you hate Sasuke, and the idea of his people being discriminated against disturbs your idea of Naruto being the only hated entity in the village, but good lord get a grip. The Uchiha were not liked, just respected.

Itachi wasn't that smart.

He later regrets his actions. He knew later on, probably moments after the massacre that it was the dumbest move he had ever made. He saw that his move was so flawed that he even thought of telling Sasuke the whole truth if he could go back in time.

It's stupid to compare the feudal set up from middle ages from a fantasy verse from another culture with your modern 21st century ideals and political realities to begin with.

And yet the readers of this feudal fantasy verse have modern 21st century ideals and still find a way to justify it, which is the point here.

There is nothing to justify or not justify here. Feudal system in those times did take care of such incidents just like that. Only relative unique part here was them asking Itachi and him doing it alone(+Obito). Itachi is an idealistic character from the time when greater good was more emphasized than individual interest. Manga set up the conflict of ideals throughout. So raging over it is meaningless.

People make it an issue because too many people like to think of themselves as victims of the authorities as a community and projecting themselves in to Uchihas, aka taking it personally. Some even make up things not mentioned in the manga.

The point of this thread is to question why people would defend the incident. We all know it cannot be defended, but I'm interested in seeing why someone who knows better would defend it. You pointing out the obvious is great, congrats on that and all, but I'm not looking for your answers.

There's no rage here, just trying to see how the fanbase has managed to justify a genocide. I thought it would be something we'd all come to the conclusion of being evil and wrong, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

No I wouldnt but alot of people would.
People critizise Islam because of Isis, and imagine if a group of muslims were secretly planning a terrorist plot you think the police would resist shooting them on the spot?

Two erroneous assumptions right there.

Because they know better and can see why Itachi agreed to it. If you don't want the answers and only wish to bash on others or the character, don't make threads.

What do you think Uchihas were going to do but start a war- you either kill or get, when you do that. And seeing their powers are directly related with a their emotions of loss it would only escalate. One Obito killed all on the field, when Rin died. The concept of genocide is relatively new. But the only reason you can use it here is that the party that was going to start the war was a single one.

Thiers no easy answer to mass murder. It only takes one to avoid war... what if one of hilters generals decided to kill hilter in one of his meeting wouldve saved millions of lives but what make you the decider of taking a life. The answer is simple dont think about it. Everyones life is as insignificant as a ant we fight die and forget. Itachi did was only to save the masses over his clan. All he did was stop a war that the third could not stop because of his old/outdated way of life.
If itachi where to side with his clan they would ultimately wouldve prevailed but out of what cost and reasons...hate,anger,resentment?. The choice is clear peace isnt free and one man did shoulder the greatest burden in naruto history and no one but a few know about it. Things like this is always hidden because of the controversy of right or wrong but that doesnt matter its what ever you can live with.

I think people are overanalyzing things, alot of stuff don't make sense, Sasuke, Kabuto and Orochimaru would never be forgiven etc. In the story it makes sense, Itachi swallowed his pride and prevented a war that would have cost more people their lives including Sasuke's.

You're retarded.

And a kid. Stop equating a fictional world to real life. Didn't school start again?

Go hit the books

Over or under analyzing, truth is were all bound by our nature. No amount of nurture can stop a person being themself. Humans are a defective species only a few are able to accept that and better themselfs for the common good.

I wouldn't accept it but I know Kishi meant to write Itachi into a wall even if he failed to make it seem that way.

I thought it was a bad idea. Hiruzen should have met with them and given them everything they asked for.

They were planning a coup that could've led to the destruction of the entire village. Maybe things could've been handled differently but then again maybe the entire leaf could've been lost due to the actions of uchiha. They brought it on themselves.

Never meet a perfect being or pure of heart... and i dont ever think well ever see one until we figure out space travel/ or a way for ppl to live thier lives without the fear of each other and ourselves.

Our carbon based form that only comsume and reacts on hormones/chemicals are the problem. Seriously untill humans can transcend into somthing less violent and ignorant were stuck at wanting more and more.
