It's not really inbreeding they're breeding within the clan it can be at a distance. It's purpose is to retain the strength of the kekkei Genkai which wouldn't really affect them. It's true for all kekkei Genkai clans in general.

Mikoto and Fugaku are cousins

That's why Itachi was so sickly.

I guess most clans in NV practiced in breeding including the uchihas.
A means for them to keep their clans secrets within the clan itself I guess. Its only after the 4th great war when the hate and distrust among the villages and clans was resolved that we see the clans and villages mixing with each other.

Yeah, no there is a difference in that. We are talking about blood here, KKG, and the need for purity of said blood. I haven't heard that concept from other clans. Wouldnt be surprised if they did, but I haven't seen it, and unless u have seen it then it's pure speculation

Agreed. Lots of inbreeding in clans dating back to Indra to keep their bloodline in tact.

Sharingan is a genetic mutation of sharinnegan.

That isn't how genetics work. There's no need for purity of blood to awaken a powerful KKG, Boruto and Himawari are clear examples. Naruto isn't a hyuga.

I am sure its covered however its so insignificant to the original story that I don't remember where exactly.

Exactly.

Highly unlikely. Fugaku and Mikoto are the family of what would be considered the main house in the Uchiha Clan. A clan with a Kekkei Genkai would not allow a marriage between two immediate cousins. What's more likely to occur is that Fugaku's great-great-grandfather's cousin is the ancestor of Mikoto. That is a very likely relation of them.

I personally believe that Obito just poisoned Itachi or something, or maybe a recessive disease gene was running in the Uchiha Clan. Probably something in every clan.

No. Inbreeding had to have been a more later thing. In Indra's time, the clan had to outbreed first. Back then, there was no need for serious or any inbreeding because the Kekkei Genkai would have been in an extremely pure and pristine state, considering the genetics of the founders of these clans.

By Madara and Hashirama's time, for the sake of blood purity, cleanliness, and strength, a clan like the Uchiha or Hyuga would have at least 800-900 members.

If Sasuke were to re-found the Uchiha clan, then early inbreeding would be a necessity but considering how weak ninja's have been getting over the generations, it might not be needed.

<_< wait so that's something u just threw out there with nothing to back it up. Flake

KKG means blood limit or ability available to a blood line only. The very fact that Toneri used the word purity means that there is is something that can defile it. What defiles blood; impure blood. Also you are bringing Himawari and Boruto as an example when their mom is supposedly the purest Hyuuga of all, and their dad who has Ashura's chakra. Ashura who is 1/4 Otsutsuki which is where the byakugan originated from. Not only that <_< u Hinata fans in particular try to bring up her having Hamura's chakra so to use either of them as a case study on the effects on blood purity is fallacy at its finest :sdo3:

Purity of blood is a necessity. In the Itachi Shinden novels, Izumi struggles with her Sharingan due to her diluted heritage. The weaker the blood gets, the less the body is physically accustomed to the use of the bloodline. The Kekkei Genkai doesn't immediately attune itself to the physical capabilities of the user. You either have the proper genes to handle and use it or you don't.

Not only does diluted blood reduce the chance of awakening your gift, but it lowers your capabilities of fully using it.

Boruto and Himawari are half Hyuga, that is enough blood for one of them to manifest the dojutsu. A Hyuga with only quarter or even less blood will probably never awaken the eye, much less even be able to use it properly.

You don't understand genetics, just stand down.

Wouldn't it be the same case for the Uchiha clan prior to Sarada?
