Hearing the possibility of Boruto going rouge sounds really promising considering Boruto tatoos has direct link to the organization and will join for whatever the reason. This keeps me invested hoping Boruto will be more complex by falling into depravity and that the curse Seal will cause negative effects to everyone around him. Boruto also has shown to be introverted when he often hiding stuff from Sarada and the others similar to Itachi but in the end; he ended up causing problems to alot of people like how he made troubles for his teammate in the latest chapter and received punishment after being compromised. Boruto definitely have the potential to be the most interesting main protagonist by far and he will undergo through psychological trauma after experiencing of losing someone close to him. Sarada is left out as she is beginning to worry and look after him where she will eventually have to bring Boruto into the light. Boruto had alot of guilt and regrets in the past and he will pay his penance by being the supportive role to the Hokage.

I couldn't agree more bro. 100% on your mindset. This would start to make his character more deep and complex, especially in regards to the MC cliche. I hope this road becomes a reality in the future.

I doubt all of this will happen bro. I mean most of the elders including Naruto (and probably high ranking officials) would know he would be a double agent. Sasuke including. So his team mates wouldn't worry other than for his safety

The problem is that Boruto is the main character. And the focus of the story has to stay on the 'good' side and it means that someone would have to take over his role.

His team mates are "good" and leaders. Though I don't think Boruto would go evil.

Villains are usually only a mystery up until a certain point in the story, like the Akatsuki. I don't see Boruto joining right now, but if this does happen, it'll be a point in the story where we already know much about the villains.
