A Misconception in Gaiden about Shin and his Surgery (*Viz Translations)

So when we first read Gaiden the translations were a little off and we assumed Shin purposely captured Sakura so that she can perform a life saving surgery for him with one of his clones.

Here you see her not even move a inch while he continues the operation

Rather what happened is Shin escaped and took Sakura with her due to her proximety, rather then being a captive...

He only kept her alive until he was fully done his surgery in which after that he decided to kill her.

So yeah when Gaiden has Shin doing the operation himself don't freak out and say filler

Shin knew sakura was a medical ninja I guess becuase of obsessed with wanting to kill Sasuke, he knew he a had a daughter so Knowlage of his wife wouldn't be far fetched. That or Sakura being renowned as Tsunades disciple which is also highly probable.

Shin has knowledge of surgery procedure likely due to Orochimaru

he knows who Sakura (especially her saying "My Husband") is but he didn't attend to take her

since Shin believed Sakura being there while he was weakened was easier (especially being back at HQ) then tossing her aside which would waste more time with who knows what other liabilities... only to have Sasuke and Naruto recover quickly and blitz him
