This is the most important battle ever. These are literally the most hyped characters in the manga. Minato is the thought to be child of prophecy after nagato and praised as the most gifted shinobi ever and the fastest and itachi is the lone wolf who literally saved konoha from the shadows and molded and guided both children of prophecies and he play the most important role in defeating the edo army and is truly undeniably hax he's virtually unstoppable so he had to be sick to be slowed down.
Im going to be honest i believe itachi wins high diff.
Minato is talented no lie and ftg makes a difference it allows minato to even be in the battle. But Minato has hype the most hype. Minato fans assume because the databook says he mastered a lot of the uzumaki clan seals then he can seal this and that blah blah but without listing the names of these unheard of sealing jutsus minato has so its hyperbole.
Minato can summon toads but they literally are useless and itachi would just use amaterasu them and no Minato isnt jiraya who was able to seal the flames of the food cart destroyer toads mouth and in a battle jiraya cabt use that sealing jutsu he wont have time to.
Intelligence i mean Minato is pure genius but i saw him do very dumb things in battles especially in the war when the obvious outcome was widely known but he has some exceptional deducing skills but i have never seen itachi mess up when it comes to strategy he literally sets you up and breaks down your weaknesses making it always seem like he has a answer for ever jutsu.
Ftg is the most important thing its Minato path to victory vs anyone but itachi and everyone knows about Ftg now everyone else lacks the fire power plus intelligence to counter or negate ftg but itachi can he can simply deflect the Ftg tagged kunai you know Minato has to throw it at his target or tag his opponent directly and its clear itachi is a weapons master especially throwing projectile weapons even at blind spots he wont allow a ftg tagged kunai to be thrown near him. Minato can however get close via hand to hand combat and tag itachi but that would put Minato in harms way cuz itachi is the feint king he would probably use a clone to engage Minato first and we all know how that goes. Also itachi susano negates the effects of ftg it can disperse the field of ftg tagged kunai that minato likes to throw and it stops itachi from being tagged diectly.
Minato fans also like to think because minato fought with and lived and grew up when the uchiha clan was well intact that he knows how to fight against them when in reality only gai and kabuto has ever used the no look tactic. Furthermore minato may know basic sharigan abilities and genjutsu but not ms genjutsu and abilities. He knows nothing about the most skillful genjutsu user ever and the second most powerful genjutsu ever. Itachi is so great with genjutsu he can use them not just visual genjutsu but sensual genjutsu and he can use genjutsu just by pointing at the opponents. He is the only shinobi that can use genjutsu without sensors being able to sense him molding the chakra in his eyes.
Edo itachi is invincible i mean black zetsu the lived abd saw every battle in history and even manipulated history openly said itachi was invincible not knowing itachi was terminally ill at the time well edo itachi has all the skills with no illness therefore that statement fits edo itachi.
Minato has no counter to any of itachi abilities because he doesn't know anything about itachi at all just like when he fought obito minato had to figure out obito jutsu by taking him head on a few times even being hurt a lil in the process well he cant learn how to beat itachi in a hands on approach that is not happening.
Itachi is the solo king for a reason he has too many one shots
