They have been for a long time. And while I know that division makes it difficult to listen to others with whom we disagree, that’s what we need now more than ever.
I recognize that wanking and flaming has become a routine rehearsal for users on this forum. But still, I hope that our moderators step back and observe what’s really happening, and consider that the choice of action must be something more than simply banning members who misbehave.
It will take community-wide solidarity. Members will need to put their bias and hate to one side. And I believe that’s what people want to see. I believe it would demonstrate the kind of environment that everyone wants to see. And I believe that it’s possible.
So I call upon everyone – If you re willing to stick to a baseline of facts. If you’re willing to call out those who are making silly claims or are rude. If you are willing to speak out, then post on this thread. Tell us, in very real terms, what this place means for you.
After all, this forum has always been about something bigger than Naruto. It’s about the character of our ourselves – who we are, and who we aspire to be. And that’s always worth talking about.
