I've watched the first 3 episodes up until Metal Lee's introduction and i'm curious to know without too many spoilers if the possession sub-plot goes anywhere slightly interesting? I've heard Shino falls prey to it and that sounds rad asf. Do Chouji or Shikamaru get any fun cameos or fun stuff to do?

To reiterate, i'm a big fan of the anime and most of the time enjoy filler, movies and slice of life shows...so it seems like it should be right up my street. I care more about atmosphere than plot or 'feats'. Think its for me? Alternatively there's the manga but...i'll stick with my Sarada design thanks. Don't wanna go jail for reading a manga.

It's either this, Yu Yu Hakusho or Boku no Academia this Summer. And i'll know i'll like one of them.

Sai always plays a main role outside the anime for some reason :')

I've seen a little of the Hanabi material and didn't need the spoiler, but cheers- might watch.

It depends on what type of anime you like and what you expect from it. If you are expecting the series to just pop off then you might as wait a while but if you are okay with the slice of life mixed with some action then continue on watching.

Yup, I actually dislike power levels and prefer character focused stuff in a fun shonen setting. I get the feeling that's not just exclusive to Boruto though. I think i've put off watching it til now because I adored the film and i'm worried that the cast will be revealed to be personality clones of their parents also.

Honestly I have noticed any clone behavior besides what we have seen thus far from Gaiden and Boruto the movie. This is from all the characters if you ask me. Obviously they are similar to their parents but I dont get the feeling I'm watching Konoha 11 2.0

Watch Boku no Hero. Far easier to catch up on than Yu Yu Hakusho. Boruto is not terrible, but the one exciting aspect that is its Ghost arc wraps up in a very anticlimactic way for all the buildup.

Watch Boku No Hero, quick to catch up, ongoing and great. Yu Yu Hakusho, I've heard is worth it as well. If you watch Boruto over those two, you're genuinely ret*rded though.

As for atmosphere, Boku No Hero Academia has a good one, imo.

It's pretty average all around. Nothing stands out and it plays like it's designed only for hardcore Naruto fans who can't let the show go

On the plus side, each show is animated beautifully

Rock lee pals> boruto

You're not missing much. The first arc was cute and what-ever, but nothing that you have you see it.

It's good for foundation purposes, like building on friendships in contrast to Naruto's generation who felt like they were just friends because they had to. Boruto's generation slowly builds relationships and have friend groups, so it's somewhat relatable.

Personally though I'm not really going to be on the anime like that until the rehashing is done. Plus I'm avoiding all anime-created arcs, can't handle their 'versions' of my characters. Too OOC.

I personally liked arc one of the anime but after that unless your looking forward to anime adaption of sarada gaiden it's going to be boring for a while
Sounds like a party to me
