Some genuine SS fans want something to happen that won't or that isn't realistic. There are other ways to establish a basis of emotional attachment or convey emotions to another person without taking the basic Shakespeare route of a kiss or holding hands. Anyone with enough sense know that's its out of character for Sasuke to do any of those things and that Sasuke will never be transparent about the depth of his feelings; pushing him into some unrealistic isn't the way to go or isn't conducive to the writing. Its like beating a dead horse that's not necessary to beat, people just need to accept the forehead poke and move on.

It's a simple matter that this is noncanon. If we treat character feats, battles, and dialogues in Naruto anime outside the manga as filler, then so is this. None of this nonsense happened in Gaiden and beyond. So, it's as much canon as any SS fanfiction out there.
