Boruto is currently a rogue nin

Maybe not in the same threat level as sasuke, but in the kawaki fight I don't think he's a konoha nin atm. This would explain a decent amount about the scene. His clothes are tattered, like he's been gone for awhile, he didn't have his head band on, when he does put it on it's slashed out. It would also kinda explain why no one else is helping and we don't really hear any battle going on elsewhere. It's also the first borutos seen of the damage, he doesn't know anything about his dad, who looks like he was fighting there. All things kinda point toward boruto just showing up at that moment. There's decent evidence of the rogue nin status as well, thoughts?

& no it's not Sasukes because his was blue. Boruto is wearing a darker blue or black that matches his cloak so

He's not fighting an enemy of konoha though.... he's fighting an enemy of the age of shinobi. He doesn't have to do anything too harsh to be considered a rogue nin, or at the very least, a missing nin, sauce was considered rogue before he attacked the kage summit iirc

It's normal for eight year olds to be merciful, but I don't necessarily think that mercy is something attributed to defecting the Village. You need a reason to leave your home.

It could very well just be that Boruto has a scar on his headband because:

Maybe an answer he can't find just from konoha. Also so far boruto himself doesn't seem tied down to the concept of konoha or a village like people where in pt 1(imo at least) he's more about his friends than anything else, or at least that's how I see it so far

Uh, it could be anything, but I think it may have to do with his doujutsu being a curse and endangering those around him. It would fit in well with leaving the village since Boruto has this savior complex, and would want to be away from everyone close to him if it meant they would be unharmed, and it makes a lot more sense that way since there's no valid reason he would hate the village to the point of becoming a rogue.

I also see it that way. Boruto's dreams are not connected to Konoha, so his loyalty to the village isn't as much as Naruto's for one, and also, Boruto is not exactly fond of becoming anything like Naruto, and there's also the fact he aspires to fill in Sasuke's shoes. It would also make sense if he went out of the village investigating something regarding the Otsutsuki clan he might've got news of.

It's the same blue.. didn't he tie it as well? The new headbands aren't like that. So either it's Sasuke's old one which was given to boruto already or boruto somehow got an older model headband.
