Orochimaru's Voice changed

I just realized that Orochimaru's Voice Changed . Listen to him in Part 1 then listen to him to late shippuden. Is it because of the age?

The old voice suits him better . It was more unique

While I can't vouch for the Japanese voice actor for Orochimaru specifically, I do know that it's pretty common practice for voice actors in general to simply alter the pitch of their voice when playing a younger/older version of their character.
