I don't see boruto having any free powerup except the Curse Seal something he earned for and he already can do so much even without his mark. Joagan is something he was genetically born with and it will be dormant for quite a while which mean Boruto won't even have to rely on it, never mind the fact that he can't even control his eye.
Boruto already mastered shadow clones and due to his talents against Nue, he can definitely utilized clones better than Naruto. Naruto would need hundreds to thoasand clones to take down a single opponent whereas it would only took 4 clones to take down one.
He also displayed great taijutsu feat against the strongest Hyuga currently alive even though he lost, Hanabi resorted to using rotation meaning she was being pushed into the corner.
Boruto also has great speed and dexterity as he was #2 in the academy at one point until Mitsuki showed up. He is also quite intelligent in solving his own formula with his own method in the academic ofc he's not as smart as shikadai and mitsuki at the moment.
Don't get me started on his elemental ninjutsu. Boruto apparently has 3 natures affinity and will probably use it around the time after Gaiden. He recently learned sarada specialty which is throwing shirukens and yet he applied lightning elements.
