Kishi remains constant with his Yin/Yang theme, always dividing the power between an individual's descendants. If Hagoromo's DNA inherited Rinnegan and Sharingan genes then the rest of her feats would logically be in Hamura's DNA.


Besides that Kimimaro's power enhances and completes the Hyuga's power but also is the perfect counter to the Hyuga's taijutsu, it's similar to how Uchiha and Senju oppose each other but also complement each other.



In addition, Orochimaru's goal was to gain Otsutsuki power, he wouldn't choose Kimimaro unless he was an Otsutsuki descendant like Sasuke.

Not really true Black zetsu has some of her abilities albeit to a lesser degree. What's to say the same isn't true for another she created or a bone she shed. A bone being she'd makes a lot more sense since the original one would know just kaguya.

Kishi did a poor job developing and expanding on every clan that wasn't named Uchiha. We barely know anything about the Uzumaki. Despite being one the strongest clans in the NV, we know little about the Senju as well. Compared to all we know about the Uchiha.
