Seen this page in another thread. As told by Madara

If rinne means transmigration and they named the eye after that ability. Besides youth, Do you think the ootsusuki main objective was to be able to live on past death through transmigration or more vulgarly eating each other?

Even Hagoromo said death to him was different than what Naruto perceived

As we've seen Momoshiki wasn't immortal but Kaguya was because of her lvl 16 fruit. But momo appeared before Boruto after his defeat but it wasn't a normal state. Boruto was aware because of his genes & Sasuke because he had the EYE OF RINNE

So it's possible Momoshiki was in a transmigrant esque type of form at that point & he almost definitely implanted his chakra on Boruto & possibly will appear before him throughout the series

Jut a theory, I'm just always thinking and hoping they'll make a plausible background for ootsusuki now that we know Boruto series will give more insight on them. Any thoughts?

No, it means Wheel Cycle or Samsara. This is the official translation:

I assume its suppose to be influenced by the six Samsaric realms of reincarnation.

Samsara ends if a person attains nirvana, the "blowing out" of the desires and the gaining of true insight into impermanence and non-self reality.

Yes rinne means rebirth (samsara) which is the power of Gedo. Kaguya. Whole thing goes full circle.
Momoshiki I think is immortal because he really didn't die exactly, a died person as we seen in the serious was never able to hold another being physically without being undead edotensei.

True but we'll see. It'd be cool though if Momoshiki was still alive and teen Boruto had a solo rematch with him.

That would be interesting. Hopefully the seal he gave him will put him down permanently.
