True for some characters, but many of the new gen kids are given better development than some of the old gen K11 kids.

It's about the same to be quite honest. In Naruto's Gen, you had geniuses like: Sasuke, Neji, Gaara, Lee, Temari. Then in Boruto's Gen you've got: Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Shinki, Shikadai, Sumire. I may be missing a few from each Gen, but overall they seem to be about the same. Both generations had their geniuses/prodigies.
