The source of power of this universe is a fruit of a tree that Ootsutsuki call god tree.
Maybe they were the first to control the power of the fruits, they decided to send many trees to many living planets to collect chakra.

The question is now, why are they collecting chakra fruits?
Is there an ennemy to the Ootsutsuki clan strong enough to force Ootsutsuki to built an army of chakra users?
Is the Ootsutsuki clan splitted in 2 branches that fight each other?
