Lack of Rivals in the Current Bort Series

Does anyone else notice the lack of clear rivalries like we had in the original Naruto series in the new one? Like in the original Naruto was a rival to Sasuke, while Sakura was a rival to Ino, and Lee was a rival to Neji. So far through the Boruto movie there are no clear rivals. Among Bort's team neither Mitsuki or Sarada really seem like rivals with Bort or each other. Bort also has no clear rivals with anyone just a bunch of friends. You may think Sarada and Chocho could be rivals but they just seem like friends. It is strange how important competitive rivals were to the original series and how absent they are now. Now in the future there may be rivals since it was hinted in the manga that Shinki had taken a competitive interest in Bort and who knows what will happen with Kawaki. Hopefully Sarada can get a rival too since not all rivals have to be super violent like Naruto and Sasuke. They can just be a competition used to push each other to get as strong as possible.

but a rivalry would be cool as long as Boruto doesn't end up chasing after his rival and keep spamming his name throughout the Manga and as long as his rival is not a total ******* who doesn't consider him a friend/rival or even give a shit about about him.

I'm kind of losing interest in the series to be honest because that's what had me hooked in the naruto series. They better become rivals fast. XD

Rivalry is a thing that worked for Naruto. And it was more suiting to the story, as Sasuke and Naruto were simply reincarnates of Indra and Asura. So it was an inevitable theme.

If they reapplied that concept in Boruto now, it'd totally result in a loss of fans, as we saw enough of it in Naruto.

But a little competitiveness will be good for character development, and it's too early right now for any rivalries to surface.

You also need to remember that they're still in the academy.

it continued to toss aside other character and also continued to leverage the two with balanced abilities to maintain their rivalries

I know what your overall point is but people shouldn't have to wait for it get good let alone multiple arcs.


This arc is straight up garbage and doesn't feel like a naruto series at all

Shouldn't a be a carbon copy but if I never watched naruto I would have no idea why these kids are being called ninja.

The setting,characters and plot none or melds together in any meaningful or interesting way in the slightest.
