Why Hinata doesn't need to be powerful

Throughout the manga, Hinata has never achieved significant fighting prowess and has never won any major fight scenes or defeated any powerful opponents.
This is often used as a criticism of Hinata's character, with people calling her weak or useless.

However, in my opinion, this mindset shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Hinata's character arc. Hinata's story was never about being powerful.

Hinata's character arc was about overcoming her insecurity, standing up for herself, and not giving up.Her major moments of character development are when she refuses to surrender to Neji, when she tries to protect Naruto from Pain at the cost of her own life, and when she inspires Naruto after the death of Neji.

Hinata's story was not like that of Naruto or Rock Lee, who wanted to prove that they could overcome weakness and defeat strong opponents. Her story was about overcoming the emotional abuse inflicted by her father and Neji, and learning to be more confident and never give up.

Then that makes it unfair for characters whose feats in filler arcs get ignored. Anyways, yeah, I get Hinata isn't so average, but let's be honest, she really deserves to be a Chuunin. That's why Neji was Jonin while she's 30 right now and is still Chuunin level.
