Well someone had to get the job but my point is form of combat and strength. They were more of strategists than brawlers and destroyers like Vikings, Barbarians, Mongols etc.

The Brits had the advantage of technology to conquer the same land area whereas the Mongols did nothing for thousands of years then suddenly conquered half the world on horseback in less than a century before settling down and doing nothing again. The Mongols are strangely unique.

They were the largest empire and were considered a superpower of that era.

Mongols were amazing warriors but terrible rulers. They were Nomads, and were not good at just settling down and ruling the nations they conquered. They eventually pretty much just up and left.
