@pic2/3 having a symbol does not mean you belong to the clan

Sasuke is the man in the house, who were the leaders in feudal japan, so its natural to put his clan symbol everywhere

My wife, marriage signifies that she is in the clan.

As I said before, you can marry, but you never take the clan name in feudal japan, which the series is based on.
Take a look at Mito, Kushina and Hinata.

I'm pretty sure that same databook has hinata as a hyuga still. Which would mean translators would have to have an ss bias for some reason? Either way I was just saying it's decent proof to reason the harunos weren't a clan

If the databook refers to Sakura being an Uchiha, to which Femme hasnt given any official proof yet, kishi heavily contradicts himself.

And yes, Haruno not being a clan is safe

Because they look dumb

Indeed lol

Sidenote: For the record, when your a woman who comes from a unrecognized home/clan and you marry into a prominent family you drop your name (the lesser) and pick up your husbands family name. When you already come from a prominent and marry into a family of equal status you keep your family name for historical purposes and if your wedding into a lesser family (didn't happen offten in feudal Japan) they also keep their family names instead of picking up the lesser.

Kishimoto heavily contradicting himself with the feudal japan references then.

I want proof for that, show me the link or tell me what to google and I'll look it up.

I'm really disappointed in you. I wasnt active during your time, but I heard lots of good stuff about you, leading to me assuming you would be logical and backed up by facts. Looks like this isnt the case, as you ignore posts you dont want to comment or simply cant.

I also read somewhere that Sai has adapted the Yamanaka name.

Family crests in Japan are called Mon. They were used to identify not only individuals but also families, members of clan, the clan itself or organizations. In the modern days, we can see them everywhere as Brands or as we commonly know them, logos.

We have no idea wether, Kishi, intended to use the Mon as a family crest or a Clan crest in the case of the Harunos. Going by a consistency process, we might suspect that the Haruno were, in fact, a clan because the usage of the Mon in Naruto was mainly for for clans or it is just a coincidence and he didn't care at all.
