Yeah, "made". You know that page is from very late in the series right? If she was always intended to be an Uzumaki then it would have been brought up when she first met Naruto and heard his last name.

Mito was dead, And Kushina was too. So he made Karin and Nagato.
Tsunade was limited because she was Sakura's teacher and a Senju so she couldn't be special abilitied.

Anyway existence of other Uzumaki's with power chakra abilities other than Kushina and Naruto gives a bit of fleshing out to Uzumaki clan survivors of which were scattered. it doesn't have to have more or less relevance otherwise. She can be of any clan or family but her sensing and chakra abilities count and they fit in with Uzumaki's too, so why not? ( no it's not a real question).

Uzumaki were said to have strong life force and sealing abilities. I don't remember it being mentioned that they had sensing and healing abilities like Karin. Kushina, Nagato, Naruto, and Tsunade certainly don't have those abilities.

I just found it weird that a series where its main character grew up feeling lonely without a family doesn't really explore that character's background.

Tell me about it. There was this avid hater who made a dedicated blog to hate on Naruto and have been all over the internet forums doing so since 2014. Several thousand words on it.

Uzumaki were said to have strong life force and sealing abilities. I don't remember it being mentioned that they had sensing and healing abilities like Karin. Kushina, Nagato, Naruto, and Tsunade certainly don't have those abilities.

Wow, that guy must have been really disappointed with the series at the end. I can sympathize with that. But I've gotten over that and now have had no serious investment in this series in over a year. I have moved on and rarely talked about Naruto.

Absurd comments like that and obsession at that level ( the blg and albums ) leaves an impression. Simple as that. Top it with more absurd claims to divert attention. His family were Kushina and Minato and both were dead. He grew up in Konoha and saw it as his village/home and worked hard to get accepted by everyone. There is his family and friends. I find it strange that you think he must be looking for other Uzumakis from the long lost village, from where some other far of relatives may or may not be, when he is well settled where he is. Maybe is Konoha kept rejecting him and he had no one at all, he would need another home and look for potential connection with other Uzumakis...

Except I never said that. I had a theory that Uzumaki was probably originally intended to be Naruto's fake name to kept him hidden and that he was really a Senju. Hence the Hashirama and Madara parallel and Nagato being called a Senju. I never even used the word retcon.

Karin being an Uzumaki was definitely a retcon. As in she obviously wasn't meant to be one when she was introduced. There was no mentioning or hint of it. No even when Karin meant Naruto.

Most of the time when people have an adopted family they don't forget about their blood family. So I don't see Naruto just forgetting about them. I think it would have fit his character to restore Uzushiogakure to its former glory and a more interesting direction than dragging out the Sasuke story(which I should have ended during The Kage Summit).
