I am honestly not so optimistic about the future of the human race, people get more stupid and ignorant day by day.
So I think is just a matter of time until a human global nuclear annihilation, biological warfare, overpopulation, ecological collapse or global warming will happen in a far future.
How many time did you think is left?

Well.. just in our galaxy are almost 40 billions of planets like Earth, but the problem is distance, to get there will be very hard or impossible. Even the speed of life will doesn't help so much.. just to get to the nearly star you will need to wait 4 years.

Well interstellar travel is already theoretically possible however the current technologies and our knowledge is still not enough to make it a reality.

Well with the leap humanity made with technology in such a short time. I honestly believe humans will not become extinct. There would probably an event where our population is little to none. The way human intelligence is set up we just refuse to take an L like that.
