To be born as Himawari?!
You see Indra basically pushed through generations of shinobi to have his revenge and we know Itachi was a prodigy for the entirety of the Uchiha Clan.
Itachi likely assumed Sasuke was going to marry a women from one of the noble clans for him to live on as their future child but unfortunately Sasuke did not.
This didn't concern Itachi in the long run because in the end he transferred his DNA and chakra via the Shisui crow to Naruto as a plan B.
We also know that Itachi tasted first hand the power of the byakugan.
All be it a diluted weak byakugan user, with only one eye.
Add the fact that this reincarnation plan would just mean it is Itachi in spirit and not Itachi himself.
But what a prize the first reincarnation is a child that has parents that have both Hagoromo and Hamura chakra.
