Rinnegan is further proved to be its own eye with the display of Momoshiki having one.

I'm sure momoshiki never had sharingan so that disproves the theory that Rinnegan is a natural evolution of sharingan.

And We all agree that Byakugan is its own eye


Now there are advanced forms of these 3 eyes


Sharingan advanced form- EMS

Rinnegan advanced form- Rinnesharingan

Byakugan advanced form-Tenseigan

The Tenseigan isn't even an advanced version of the Byakugan. It's relationship to Byakugan is just like Rinnegan's relation to Sharingan. One can evolve into the other w/ an extra power. Tenseigan nor Rinnegan have any of the Sharingan/Byakugan's abilities by nature.

Ashura+Indra=Hagoromo=Rinnegan.

And the Rinne Sharingan is the Rinnegan and Sharingan combined. They aren't apart of the same evolutionary line.

They are all one dojutsu with simply different mutations and evolutionary paths. Possibly, they are all forms of some superior dojutsu of alien race, that Otsotsuki come from. Narutoverse is filled with its own pseudo-genetic lore. Sharingan is just incomplete rinnegan. Boruto possibly has some dojutus mix in his right eye, that Uzumaki and Hyuga genes triggered it to form.
I doubt Kishimoto or new writer ever will elaborate about dojutsu roots more.

Sharingan and Rinnegan came from Kaguya's RinneSharingan or something.
It was said that Kaguya had Sharingan powers, not the Sharingan itself. This can mean that the first ever occurrence of Sharingan is via Hagoromo, which he later passed on to Indra and the Uchiha clan. On Sasuke's Rinnegan, I believe it's an overlap of his own Sharingan and the bestowed RInnegan powers by Hago himself, thus manifesting like RInneSharingan but isn't actually one.

Hyuuga Byakugan might have been Hamura exclusive.

Sharingan came from Kaguya's 3rd eye. Also supposedly Rinnegan too. So by that Sharingan and Rinnegan max form is technically the 3rd eye.(although can't evolve back into it.

Rinnesharingan is not an advanced rinnegan. It is a separate dojutsu entirely. It is awakened by either eating a shinju fruit like Kaguya did, or by awakening the rinnegan, becoming the juubi's jinchuuriki and approaching the moon (naturally you have to be a transmigrant).

If you were referring to Sasuke's eye when you said "rinnesharingan", that eye is a rinnegan (not a rinnesharingan).
