Naruto HD remaster

If you’ve always wanted to watch Naruto but could not abide its quality, then Japan has got the thing for you. Today, the folks over at Animax Japan announced it was undergoing a long-awaited project which fans will love. After more than a decade, the original Naruto anime is getting an HD remaster. So, think less Naruto Kai and more Naruto: The Remastered Years.

According to Animax, the remaster will simply be an HD do-over and will not cut down any episodes. So, if you were hoping the remaster would condense Naruto’s many filler arcs, then prepare to be let down. At most, the remaster may make an effort to clean up the anime’s actual animation errors, but there will not be any tinkering done to its structure.


The anime is expected to being airing immediately in conjunction with Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Fans will be able to watch Naruto Uzumaki’s younger years before they bear witness to the ninja’s son. Of course, audiences will notice the gap between the two series and their animation styles. Despite being brought up to 1080p, the original Naruto anime will house its original animation; It will pale a bit to Boruto’s softer style, but fans are eager to see remastered fights from the original show.

Just imagine the Chunin Exams and the Sannin’s Reunion in HD. Yeah, it’s going to be great.

There is no word on whether the HD remaster will be coming to the U.S. via streaming sites, but fans do have hope. Platforms like Hulu and Crunchyroll house the original Naruto anime, so the sites may be able to license the remastered edition once it is finished airing.

HOLY SHIT YOU BETTER NOT BE TROLLING! This is literally all I have been asking for ever since the Boruto movie came out. If this is true, and if they cut out all the filler, then this will be amazing.

Edit: Oh, false alert... this is literally just Part 1 in HD, and not an HD remake like I thought. Damn, well the article I read on Saiyan Island did mention that they said they haven't decided yet if this will simply be an HD re-release or if they really will go the route of DBZ Kai. But as of right now this is nothing more than Part 1 in HD. Don't get me wrong, watching Part 1 in HD will be nice but at this point I think a full blown remake/reanimated Part 1/Part 2 is far more exciting—especially if they cut out ALL filler from Part 2, which would in turn make the show like 1/3 the length that it is.

I feel like they only would if they also did that with Part 1. I could be wrong (I hope I'm wrong) as Part 1 really doesn't have any filler, at least not until the canon story-line ends, so it's possible they will just do an HD re-release of Part 1 and then Kai Part 2. Or maybe they wont. I just hope that someday, even it that day is 10 years from now after both the Boruto anime/manga has concluded and they want another way to milk the series for everything it's got, that they do Kai the series and reanimate it from the ground up with no filler and consistent animation quality. The series really does deserve that, as the CONSTANT use of filler/cheap animation tricks later on in Part 2 is what led to the anime's horrible quality.

probs not a remaster but im fairly sure they were going to release shippuden as a whole without filler, it was a while ago that i heard it so maybe nothing came from it

Honestly i like Naruto part 1 as it is . It is old and it should be old . It shows us how ild it is compared to Boruto . I like the quality of the old anime . We don't need HD version
