I realized that Boros claimed that a seer told him that he would enjoy a challenge on planet earth but that was 20 years ago.

Saitama was around 6 years old at the time. So who could possibly be strong enough to fight a Dragon level plus world destroyer in the series? And then it dawned on me a powerful hero 18 years ago when green tornado was young.

That would be Blast. So according to the seer, blast would give boros a good challenge but he wouldn't dominate him like Saitama just did. This not only means Saitama>Blast but it also means that every villain that shows up that is weaker than Boros would lose to Blast.

That's interesting that Blast 18-20 years ago would push Saitama to a super move: serious punch level attack.

Wow, I'm yet to read that chapter. But, a prophecy accounts for time, meaning, Saitama might not have been born at all, and the prophecy will tell Boros that he'll fight Saitama. What it just means is that, events will play out in such a way that they'll end up fighting.

I thought it was said that Boros was supposed to fight Garou?

Garou is 18 years old currently meaning 20 years ago when the prophecy was told, he did not exist. Saitama was 5 years old at that time too. Only Blast was around his 20-30 at the time during the prophecy.

if you actually keep reading the one version,
I think it's pretty much confirmed that Saitama himself is Blast iand is not aware of it

Read it. Stated nowhere. Saitama was 3 years old when Blast saved green tornado from a monster. He was a registered hero with a proper job according to him.

I think Blast = Saitama in terms of strength, and that blasts powers transferred to Saitama somehow.

In short, fate?

Yes, for prophecies to come to pass, there's gotta be fate.

Also, the one version makes it feel like Saitama and Blast have exactly the same power.

What chapter was the picture in your op from? (the second picture), cos I read the webcomic and I've read the last chapter, but I don't remember seeing that.

Chapter 106. This was after Saitama beat awakened garou and almost all of the S class started to see his strength being above their capability.
Green tornado was in denial but she admitted saitama was too strong and she told him after she lost to him that the only reason why she joined the hero association was because Blast saved her life when she was 6 or 8 years old.

So saitama being blast wouldn't make sense. I think fate was the whether it be 20 years ago or currently, Borodin will receive the biggest challenge of his life.
If Saitma was ever Blast (theory), that would mean saitama is 40 to 50 years old by now but since the webcomics series showed Saitama's childhood story, I seriously doubt it.
Also Blast is an employed worker while saitama is not. Blast seems like a relative of saitama not saitama himself.

Thanks, I read that chapter but missed the scan, I'll go reread.

@bold, do you remember one villain that tried telling the heros the source of his power, but died (cos he's not allowed to reveal the source), "some guy sitting on bench that suddenly got powerful" (I'll go look for his name and edit this post).

I'm thinking there are extra terrestrials giving people power in One punch verse, Saitama and Blast probably got the same power.

Edit: found the dude, he's the guy that got killed chapter 80, somebody gave him power.

Oh you mean the homeless guy? I do remember that but that is also plausible. That and what the scientist Genus told zombieman. Maybe Saitama and Blast removed their limiters to become that powerful.
