Mitsuki's eyes vs Orochimaru's eyes - Byakugan? and unlocking eyes like Himawari

It seems the fandom is wondering if Mitsuki's sage mode eyes could be the byakugan.

We learnt via the one-shot and later confirmed with the last episode that a user does not need to have lavender/pupil-less eyes to contain the byakugan. (As seen via Himawari). We also learnt that the eye color of the said user having the byakugan can be different as well.

Lastly the byakugan must be apparently unlocked and some Hyuga members went through life without ever unlocking it.


Let us return to Mitsuki...

NOTE: No where in the Mitsuki ONE-SHOT was there a color page of Mitsuki's sage mode as some seem to constantly believe, rather we only know what Mitsuki's eyes base color looks like.


I am not hear to lecture about the connection between Toneri and Mitsuki and the similarities they have in their base form appearances and their Sage modes.

While YES, Mituski does have Orochi traits, he also has some odd traits that are not comparable with Orochimaru. For one his eye's pupil are not slits like Orochimaru's.

Also this is not some artistic freedom as in the Manga for Ikemoto he also has rounded pupils.

We also know via the One-shot and now via the Anime that Mitsuki is watching over Boruto via the orders of Orochimaru to find himself. Similarly Toneri is currently interested in Boruto as well.


Via the recent Episode's Mitsuki showcased a interest in the Byakugan, even telling Shikidai in the cafe that he hoped that Boruto's eye were the byakugan.

Anime says not many Hyuga unlock Byakugan. Naruto manga shows many Byakugan user's. Adding that the branch family all have curse seals to seal their Byakugan. Boruto anime dumb af.

There are a ton of Hyugas but like the Uchiha's Black eyes they just have pale lavender pupil less eyes


the branch family has the curse seal no matter what so when they do unlock the byakugan it is usually when it leaves their eye socket
