I just remembered that the one picture with all of those guys was the Akatsuki draft. But I'm not sure about the rest

I was actually going through these images on Tumblr the other day, you can defiantly see how Kishi elevated his original concepts of characters. Example: Kisame being a more sophisticated version of the sardine or fish head guy. His orginal rendition of the Akatsuki makes me cringe though..

I'm guessing they were meant to be general rough drafts of the Naruto series they worked from. I'm guessing this was how the Naruto series was initially conceived. But these art and characters look way better than most in the series making Naruto look bland.
