So, a few questions about Frog Song.

First of all, do you all think that Minato and Naruto automatically gain access to Frog Song in a VS scenario because Jiraiya used it? Yes, they technically have the ability to summon Ma and Pa for it, but then again, why do we even assume they know it exists? Do you think this should be allowed?

Secondly, how practical do you find it? Even assuming they have access to it, Jiraiya's usage of it required pretty hefty prep time in a hidden location. It was also advantageous terrain that carried the sound well.

I see it cited all the time but I think it is pretty impractical, especially for Naruto and Minato.

Frog Song is not Jiraiya's jutsu, it's the toads, therefore, anyone capable of summoning ma & pa have access to the technique.

Practicality doesn't exist in VS since we always use OC of characters, as it's basically impossible to stay IC in debates lol.

Example:

Ma & Pa: "Naruto, we have a super OP Sound Genjutsu, want us to use it?!"

Naruto: "Yeeee"

Ma & Pa: *use Frog Song"

People overrate how long it takes to work, to my recollection it was like 9 pages of nonstop action for it to take effect in the manga, so a pretty quick period of time, again, considering it was non-stop action.

There's a reason Fukasaku and Shima were kept out of the War Arc, frog song would have been too OP considering it's not limited in how many people it can trap. It's arguably the most powerful genjutsu in the manga(well, outside of god tier characters).

Fukasaku and Shima themselves are some pretty OP characters.

It's been implied that both boss summonings require a special seal in order to summon them. Neither Naruto or Minato have displayed this ability. Also, as I've said before, there's been occasions in which Ma&Pa have no recollection of Minato at all.

They are the same as the rest of the toads, the toad contract is with all of them. No need for any special measures to summon them, here is Fukasaku being summoned along with Gamabunta and the rest.

You may be thinking of the Amphibian technique that Jiraiya does to join their bodies with himself.

Minato and naruto won't summon ma & pa only IC. Otherwise they can even ask some other toad to summon them, so summoning ma & pa is not an issue. And then ma/pa can use genjutsu of their own accord while minato/naruto protect them from enemy attacks. In debates they have access to all toad jutsus. There is no restriction. And naruto already tried using frog song while pa almost got killed, and minato didn't have enough screen time or need to use frog song since he only lost to jubi jins who would shit on frog song anyways.

Do you remember that Ma and Pa were about to use aginst Pain (when Naruto fought Pain not Jiraiya) .This answers your question ,and that is that anyone who can summon toads have it.

Bold : It actually benefits Minato more than anyone.

Step 1 : create a shadow clone and let Ma and Pa prepare genjutsu while they are on his shoulder.

Step 2 : Clone leaves the battlefield while main is fighting.

Step 3 : When genjutsu is almost ready clones teleports back where original is and releases genjutsu.

opponent is helpless.

Or you can have clone acting as observers and simply teleporting themselves and toads away from danger.

This is how Minato easily defeats Itachi.

I've seen those post. There's others where they don't have any recollection of Minato. So mute. Hell, even Naruto signed road contract without meeting them prior to Jmans death.

Jiraiya himself didn't know about Frog Song either until Ma+Pa brought it up so Naruto and Minato not knowing about Frog Song shouldn't stop Ma+Pa using it if they feel the need to. As for the ability, I grant Naruto and Minato the potential to use it but I don't consider it something likely to happen due to how they fight.

It doesn't take to long, I doubt it takes more then a five minutes(could be less), the main problem is that Ma+Pa can't defend themselves while singing but when they're backed up Minato and Naruto, it shouldn't be to hard for them to get it off so it's decently practical.
