Exactly why would someone hate a canon episode? People hate fillers. Aka the 6 tails arc. Or the Guren arc and Boruto etc.

There is a time and a place for filler. What we hate is the obvious, obnoxious abuse of filler arcs that became far more frequent than they needed too. What you listed is one of the proper ways to utilize filler as it's material that not only serves a function logically from a viewer/production perspective but also enhances the experience of the canon material, although labeling an extension of a canon fight can be debated if that's even filler...

Mate, from an action stand-point- some of the best battles, period are pure 'filler'. Filler123 might over-do it sometimes but just viewing it all as a story....People are missing out.

Most of which feature movie-level direction and animation fittingly. Also Rock Lee, oddly.
