Can Byakagan eyes be merged into next level?

Main branch seals the eyes of the lesser branch. Im guessing this is to protect the eyes from enemies OR lesser branch members from merging their eyes to create more powerful ones.

Question I have is...

Would two pairs of Byakagan merge to create a more powerful dojutsu?
