[Discussion] What did reiner and berthold mean?

MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD

In anime chapter 6, Reiner and Berthold said that if Eren comes with them, all will be over. But, what do they mean?
They are on a mission to retrieve the original titan's powers (confirmed in the last few manga chapters, where they are currently 9 years ahead the first titan attack, and they mention the "mission to retrieve the original titan" was nine years ago). So, do Reiner and Berthold know about Eren having eaten his father, who contained both attack titan and original titan? How the **** do they know?

Or they just wanted to go home, and bring along eren to say hey at least we retrieved one titan.

going by the last chapters, it seems they wanted Titan power back to them to finish their war that was going on while they were playing soldiers.

They didn't know Eren was the Coordinate until he actually demonstrated that power, which will happen in the next episode or two. The reason they were planted in the walls as spies was to find out who held that ability. After Eren was revealed to have the Assault Titan, Reiner figured/hoped bringing him back would be substantial, though perhaps he also thought it was the titan they were looking for.
