Minato's natural speed is pretty high already. His speciality is fuuinjitsu(Uzumaki grade seals taught to him by his wife) with, of course, FTG as his Trump. He also has

Summons
Sage Mode(did you guys forget that?)
He is known to only have to see a Jutsu once before knowing how it works.

Maybe not a ton of different techs but these alone and how he uses them is what makes him so tough. Take away FTG he still has Sage Mode and Summons amongst his Taijutsu skills, strategy, and overall skill.

Rasengan is based off of rasengan. He sealed the fox in him before he died and edo tensei revives the person back to however when they died at that moment and the fox didn't even know it was possible for Minato at ALL even in edo tensei:

Because it's not a reasonable argument. Minato has always brought about a sense of discomfort for advocates of certain characters. They remain perplexed as to how someone without a kekkei genkai or a special origin (I.E. Transmagrant), can excel the way that he did. It seems implausible, and further degrades the qualities of their own preferred characters. He can be overhyped at times, to be fair, but more often than not his abilities are downplayed to serve the purpose of others. I won't list his abilities since they've been regurgitated ad nauseum over the years, but he is much more than just the FTG. I think that we all know that. Whether or not one accepts that..... well, that's another story.
