If madara had amaterasu and lightning affinity do you think he would have stood a chance against hashirama

Not really when hashi can just spam wood release with that one technique put users to sleep I don't think amatseru would touch him. Also amatseru seems like a slow burning flame

I doubt it, I think the wood release would absorb amateratsu. Even with Rikodou influence (Rinnegan) Madara still lost. However, if he was able to use Limbo at the time, that would make Madara the winner.

His wood element has the ability to absorb chakra. Amaterasu wouldn't do much good. SM Hashirama would kill them even before they attempt anything. Hashirama is a beast.

Okay but he absorbs chakra not ninjutsu and it's not mokuton in general that carries this ability, it's only wood dragon that can absorb chakra and not ninjutsu. A great example would be its inability to absorb rasenshuriken:

Mokuton's natural ability is to suppress chakra not absorb it. He has to usespecial mokuton jutsus to absorb chakra or absorb life energy but it's only a single wood style jutsu that is capable of preforming each of these feats.

Amatersu burns wood like it's naturally suppose to do. Amatersu naturally beats wood style, even the jyubi couldn't stand amatersu and its only solution to it is to remove the part that was burning.
