I take it this is to Neji's low placement? (Which actually is high asf when you take the 'whole' NV into account. I just struggle to picture the Sasuke Retrieval Squad as more powerful than the Sound 4 as a whole. Everybody got matched too conveniently, Kidomaru is in my mind a stronger ninja in general because nobody else had the one jutsu that could break his webs.

Actually that's fair. Them OHKOing the Sound 4 when he struggled against Shino is not only deus ex machina but really out of nowhere.
