I Did Not Like SP's Portrayal of Sarada in This Episode

I am kind of pissed at how poorly they portrayed Sarada. She hardly got any focus the first three episodes so this is pretty much her introduction in the anime as a character and for a future main character it was lacking to say the least. Her characterization initially comes down to nagging Bort and then arguing with him over a stupid sandwich which just seems dumb on both their parts. I guess they used to hang out before maybe but don't like each other or whatever but that is not explained at all. My problem is how poorly she was shown in the test. She is the daughter of the legendary Uchiha Sasuke. She should have a great showing but it was lackluster at best. She easily got caught in Shikadai's shadow justsu and simply runs with the other girls without any strategy. She also easily falls into Inojin's trap with the girls as well. The only thing she did is show she is good with shuriken's which is something but not much when it only even accomplished anything because Lee froze up. The episode was hyping Bort vs Sarada like their parents and yet in the end they don't fight at all outside of arguing at the beginning. The Boys were coming up with all these nice strategies while the girls just charged ahead with no strategy. It was plot no jutsu that the guys didn't simply easily get the flag before the girls even got there with the way the episode went. I wanted Sarada to show she was smart and truly skilled with a decent move set like Bort has shown the last few episodes. In the end she threw some shuriken's while Bort showed he can summon and she watched Bort heroically rescue her friend while she just stood there. Since the next few episodes seem like she will be irrelevant she simply seems like one of the filler girls with a little skill as opposed to a true future main character so far.

SP aren't competent writers. Even if you say that Boruto was shown to be competent in these last few episodes, I honestly think writing wise it's been kind of back and forth.

And did anyone notice when Shino was taking notes about sarada he said she has the blood of the uchiha XD sakura wasnt even mentioned XD XD

Let's break down what the boys and the girls did this episode. The guys used shadow possession, shadow clones, ninja beast scroll art, mud wall, and summoning combined with a tech genius who hacked into the school. The girls used one unique technique which was Chocho's body expansion. Otherwise they just charged ahead and used basic shuriken and paper bombs. It was crazy one sided and the only reason the boys didn't stomp was plot and SP thinking it would be funny if the girls won in comedic fashion.

Naruto gaiden is coming which focuses on Sarada more. Plus it's been 4 eps only sheesh .

It's nothing new. In SP's opinion "Female character development = bigger breasts". We could see it clearly in Shippuuden. Her being a Sakura's daughter just makes it worse, seeing all this love for Sakura from SP. Let's face it, she will be never taken as seriously as Sasuke has been only for the sole reason of having a vagina. Sad but true.

It's just episode 4 give it some slack. They've been at the accedemy for like what a few weeks??? And how is she gonna be a badass uchiha when sasukes not around??? So far she just has her moms skills in the anime and so cool ninja tool movies lol. There haven't been enough development. It takes time.

And I agree, the episode was pretty meh. It could've been much better than that.

Gaiden version of Sarada was the best because I could see her being the female Itachi, the author just ruined her current appearance but hopefully jonin version of her looks more intimidating and more like a ninja

In terms of personality I can't complain, Kishi said she had Sasuke's talent and it shows with how unimpressed she is by any challenge she faces, only exception was Otsutsuki but then again godly beings will make anyone that isn't the MC shit their pants.
