Oda apparently didn't give much info in the exact plot yet, but it's supposed to describe Ace's life as a pirate from leaving Luffy, to forming the spade pirates, to becoming Whitebeard second division commander, so i assume so

Such a shame Ryohgo Narita is gonna waste time on a novel on someone like Ace (A less boring version of Sabo) but then again he did work on some Bleach content, oh well.
